Managing Partners
Karl Krieger graduated from Yale University and joined the U.S. Navy as an Engineering Officer.  Later he became the President of Pittsburgh Carbon Corporation where, over the next forty years, he grew the company to a diversified manufacturing and holding company.  Karl is an active participant in small business advocacy. 

Barry Lhormer graduated from Wharton and immediately began a career in residential and commercial real estate development.  He left real estate to found Busy Beaver–a chain of home improvement retail stores.  He stayed with the company as an executive and board member for 20 years.  He then conducted several successful leveraged buyouts.  He currently is active in real estate development through Lhormer Real Estate. 

Rob Barmen Rob Barmen began his career in the restaurant business in Pittsburgh. He sold his retail interests in order to pursue opportunities in Finance. He spent 12 years in the financial services industry working at PNC Bank, Prudential Securities, UBS and Provident Wealth Management. After starting and growing Provident to over $100,000,000 in assets under management, he founded Paragon Wealth Management which focuses on bringing institutional level investments and wealth management affluent families throughout the country.

Managing Director
David Harel is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon’s business school and brings to PGF experience in operations and management.  He began his career as an officer in the Israeli military.  In 2004, David founded Reticle Partners, a Pittsburgh based management buyout fund.  PGF III and Reticle merged on 2006.

The partners in PGF III are a group of experienced business owners and executives from the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Our partners bring hundreds of combined years of operational experience and excellence in wide variety of industries:
Business Services, Consumer Products, Engineering, Financial Services, Information Technology, Logistics, Security, Real-Estate Development and Management, Steel and Metals Product Manufacturing, and Telecomm.
Since our partners are very involved in the investments post-closing, we are considering them the true value the fund brings to its companies.

We will be especially interested in investments where our partners’ experience can add value.
